Hi everyone

The Matchgirls Memorial poetry & flash fiction (& phone film) competition is open until 31 December. Entry £2 to raise funds for their cause. Their website has great research on the history of the trade union movement and feminism in the UK in the late 19th century. Link below. K.

    • Thanks for sharing this Karen. I've taken a look at the website and am feeling a little bit stupid. I think I understand- but it's not entirely clear to me- that the entries should be about the strike in some way. Is that right?

      • I was wondering that. It's not clear if there is a theme.

        • Glad I'm not the only one who wasn't quite sure. I'm assuming it is themed, but it could be made a lot clearer if so!

          • Sorry haven't replied sooner, I am pretty sure entries should be Matchgirl themed - I took part in a free webinar with one of the judges and our writing exercises explored their history. K.
