What would your Ultimate Novel Writing Course look like?

Write a publishable book in a year

You might have seen recently that the Jericho team announced what we think the ‘Ultimate’ Novel Writing Course would look like. Does this match yours? This newsletter unpicks what we mean by ‘ultimate’ and highlights alternatives.

COURSE: The Ultimate Novel Writing Course 2020-21

This course is our answer to an Ultimate Novel Writing Course. Like a professional MA, but with increased mentoring time, detailed feedback, events and that all-important focus on publication. Starts 1 October 2020. Check it out!

VIDEO COURSE: How to Write (FREE)

Our Ultimate Novel Writing Course includes monthly online tutorials. Learn about the fundamentals of writing here and also as part of the extensive ‘how to write’ video course on Jericho Writers.

MENTORING: Get one-to-one feedback as you write

Feedback on your work is the gold-standard way to improve your writing. Outside of the Ultimate Novel Writing Course, you can work with leading mentors from around the world one-on-one as you write or edit your book.

SUMMER FESTIVAL: Discount Latecomer tickets (Member discount available)

The Ultimate Novel Writing course includes tickets to two life-changing events in 2021. Meanwhile, join 1,000 writers from all seven continents around the world for July/August/September for up to a third off.

Content corner: The Ultimate Novel Writing course explained

The new Ultimate Novel Writing Course is our answer to a writing MA, but with more one-to-one feedback and a bigger focus on market.

This course includes things like monthly tutorials; consistent mentoring as you write your book; two life-changing physical events; special online events; a full manuscript assessment and real opportunities to meet literary agents / learn about self-publishing.

Because it contains so much one-on-one time, it carries an ‘Ultimate’ price tag too. This means it won’t be for everyone – especially when we know money is tight for many of us right now.

However, if you do have an idea for a book that you really do want to make a go of, then this course is the ultimate thing we can offer you. Not only will it give you the skills and tools you need to write an amazing book – but it will also give you the contacts and support to (hopefully!) see it published at the end.

Entry is only by application to ensure every single writer on this course gets the most out of it. In short – if you’re accepted onto this course, then it’s because we think you really have a shot.

So do take a look, download the prospectus and – if you’re ready to invest in yourself – apply to kick-start your writing career on 1 October 2020.

What would your Ultimate Novel Writing Course look like? Would it look like this one? Share your thoughts about it in the Townhouse here.

Stay well

5 Things To Know About Book Publicists
So, you’re getting published. Your agent has persuaded a publisher to take on your book – job done, right? Wrong (and a good thing too, otherwise this blog post would be woefully short)!   There are a lot of people involved in turning your manuscript into a book – and to make sure that your book sells. One of the departments that you might not know much about is the publicity department.   I’m privileged to have a PR director from Penguin Random House as a mentor, and I’d like to share with you 5 things every author needs to know about book publicists.   1) They help to determine whether your book is brought on-board.   Before purchasing your book, a publishing house will hold an acquisi
We're in the Mood for Romance
We at Jericho Writers know how important it is to spend some quality time with your significant other this Valentine’s day…and by significant other, we do of course mean your ever-dependable manuscript. After facing one another across a dimly lit table (it’s surprising how much light laptops can create), you might find that the passion you’ve been holding onto will reignite and boldly take the form of poetic prose.  On the other hand, you may also find yourself staring into the abyss wondering “Can we go the whole hog, or has the time come to start a new chapter?” If that’s the case, then worry not my friends! We have the tools to help you figure out your next best steps. You can check out
